- Next morning LLOD-IV heads downstairs and discusses the missing adventurers with Ol’Garren the barkeep
- Ol’Garren confirms much of of what they heard from Fleta
- Mentions the sink hole is know as the Sunken Citadel and no one has been interested in the place for may years (13 to be exact)
- Last one to ask was a druid with a large pet frog, which haven’t been seen since
- Violet has read of this Sunken Citadel. Apparently it used to be a home to dragon cultists who worshiped a green dragon, know as the Verdant Scourge. At some point a cataclysm occurred destroying the citadel and likely the cult
- PCs head out of town toward the Sunken Citadel
- Follow the main road for a time over a large bridge crossing the Silver River
- Jungle like plant growth which is out of place in this location. Both overgrown but also rotting
- Spot a path and footprints that match the missing adventures, leading off the road into the overgrown foliage
- After some walking arrive at a large sinkhole/chasm
- At the edge of the hole is a tied rope. Which the PCs eventually scale 140’ down to a ledge
- Pitch black so Cyn lights a lantern
- From the ledge the PCs travel a stairway carved into the cliff walls
- This eventually leads to the top of the a ruined citadel, which is mostly submerged
- Arriving at the Sunken Citadel
- Stepping onto the ramparts before a tower, the PCs are attacked by four bullywugs that climb out of the water
- PCs defend themselves and the bullywugs are slain
- The strange well made rapiers they were wielding are collected by LLOD-IV & Violet
- Two healing potions are also found which LLOD-IV & Holly hold on to
- LLOD-IV approaches the tower door, narrowly avoiding a trapdoor that opens in the floor
- The open trapdoor reveals a dead bullywug floating in the water
- Torrych reaches for a pouch and a giant crab jumps out of the water and attacks, which is quickly dispatched
- Torrych finds 4gp & 23sp
- PCs enter the tower
- Inside the Sunken Citadel
- Floor covered in 2’ of water so LLOD-IV carries Cyn (only 3 1/2’ tall) and wields his lantern
- Cyn send his lizard, Kama, to try and see what is in the upper floors of the tower but blocked by rubble
- From the initial room there are three doors
- First is a simple a stone wall that is a dead end
- Second is a chamber with a fancy metal door depicting two green dragons with keyholes in their mouths
* Violet cast detect magic and they are glowing with protective magic
- Third is a hallway with a doors at the end
- First door is locked and has a “ying/yang” of two water dragons etched in the door. LLOD-IV tries her “mystery key” but no luck
- Second door there is a whimpering noise
- Third door remains unchecked
- PCs enter the room with the whimpering
- Cage at one end (10’x10’)
- Platform off to the side with a bedroll and a whimpering bullywug
- After some conversation introduces themselves as Glubnub.
- Is sad because lost the clans dragon turtle (Plurtick)
- Goblins stole it when taking it to eat it’s favorite food
- Violet reads words on the wall, which are in draconic, “Here they be dragons”
- PCs spot an bench/alter that has green paint & a brush (used to paint words on wall) & dragon turtle figurines.
- Glubnub takes PCs to see the leader queen Splagel
- Enters door at the back of the room
- Continuously shouts the “secret” password “Wallypog” to avoid getting attached by guards
- Follow a long hallway with many doors
- Enter a throne room where a bullywug is sitting on a throne. This is queen Splagel
- In the room is an alter with a carving of two dragons holding two keys
- Splagel explains the goblins attacked six days ago taking their dragon turtle. They are planning on training it to attack the bullywugs
- The goblin are located in the dry section of the citadel
- Splagel also mentions that a group of outsiders, matching the description of the the missing adventurers, had previously ventured to the goblin side of the citadel but never returned. This happened before the theft of the dragon turtle
- Above them is the atrium, which is thought to be haunted. Up there lives Arvid. A druid with a giant pet frog
- Splagel says PCs can have the keys if they can return the dragon turtle from the goblins
- Glubnub begins to take PCs to where the goblin territory is located
- On the way, Glubnub is asked what is behind the door with the water dragons, he claims it is an arcane water heater
