- Engaging the goblins at the door
- LLOD-IV is first through the door and engage the three goblins guarding it. She tries to talk them down but on mention of reclaiming the dragon turtle she is peppered with arrows.
- With no choice the rest of PCs engage, injuring them
- LLOD-IV tries again and this time they are more receptive to what she is offering, agreeing to let the PCs by, saving their skins
- To keep up appearances they are “locked” in the cell
- The goblins (Staby and two others) are questioned about the adventurers the PCs are seeking
- The paladin and the female sibling went up to the atrium where the druid Arvid resides
- The male sibling was killed by the lead hob goblin Durn
- Torrych picks up the caltrops and stores them (may come in useful)
- Holly notices she can hear the sound of arrows being fired on the other side of the door that leads further on
- As things calm down, a giant snail emerges from the ceiling and attacks the PCs
- After stunning much of the party and shrugging off magic attacks with it’s anti magic shell it is brought down and it’s shell shattered (which the PCs later learn was worth 5,000gp)
- Holly takes a few pieces of shell anyway
- Take a 10-minute short rest (one per day) to recover
- Engaging the archery range goblins
- Kama leads out the door to do some scouting and finds three more goblins are practicing at a makeshift archery range.
- LLOD-IV again tries to encourage the goblins that it is in their best interest to let the party through. She has good success and makes a promise to kill Durn and not harm any goblins.
- The goblins (Gordo, Snick & Snack) provide all kinds of information before going to hang out with the others
- The goblins were known as the Morghelos Tribe (same tribe the voice mentioned to Cyn)
- They are led by Grenal (a female magic using goblin)
- Suspect she is the one who reached out to Cyn entering the area
- Durn’s tribe is called “Durbuluk” which means “Disrupter”
- The bugbear that was selling the berries is called “Balzak” (many jokes were made)
- Through a nearby door they have a captives; a couple of bullywugs and a gnome
- There are two routes to the rest of goblin area. One is trapped but the other (through the pantry) is not
- Rescue the captives
- Entering the room, as expected, are the three captives
- The two bullywugs are just happy to be released and leave quickly promising to update Splagel on progress and to not harm the goblins
- The gnome, named Erki Timbers, is an acolyte, investigator and reporter for the Korranberg Chronicle who came to learn about the Sunken Citadel and had a bunch of useful information
- Came on an airship, that partially crashed and is damaged. Needs a air elemental crystal
- The Sunken Citadel used to be home to the cult that worshiped the green dragon Morghelos (same name as the goblin tribe). Also know as the “Verdant Decay”. Likely is long dead.
- The druid Arvid lives in atrium where resides a massive tree, called the Gultheas tree, which is named after a vampire follower of the dragon Morghelos, who was destroyed with the Citadel fell
- Durn, the lead hobgoblin, resides in his throne room with two other hobgoblin and Grenal
- Erki decided to follow the PCs with the hope of getting back to his airship to make repairs
- Deeper into the Citadel
- Head through the pantry. Typical goblin supplies. LLOD-IV is disturbed by the “elf pudding” and tries to spare her colleagues from it. Which of course, makes them more curious to investigate. Everyone grossed out, other then Torrych.
- Discussions are had about the best approach. It is decided taking down Durn first will make everything else easier.
- Kama scouts ahead. Eventually sneaking through a crack above a closed door. Briefly spots some large hobgoblins and a goblin magic user before being subjected to some dagger throwing practice. Cyn initially shocked, resummons them back.
- It is decided the direct approach is best and the plan is to rush the throne room.
- To get a feel if the goblins will be on the PCs side, Torrych messages the Grenal the goblin through the door, explaining the groups intentions. The response is basically “It’s about time!”
- Tension Dice = 5
